We operate a computerised system. Please allow at least 48 hours for your repeat prescription to be generated. Please mark the items required clearly on your prescription slip. If this slip is not available please write giving name, address and item required.
There are several means of arranging for a repeat prescription.
(Please note emails are accessed Monday-Friday 8am-6.30pm and should not be used for clinical matters and must include your name, address and DOB.)
Prescription requests will not be taken by telephone in order to minimise errors.
Arrangements can be made for you to collect your prescription directly from a participating chemist of your choice. Some chemists provide a delivery service for any elderly or housebound patients.
From time to time patients on repeat prescriptions are asked to make an appointment to see doctor. This review is necessary so that doctor can check that repeat medication is still appropriate.
Repeat Dispensing is beneficial to patients who are taking regular medication for a stable condition. Please ask your GP when having your annual medication review if you are eligible for this service.
This is ideal if you are struggling to place your order every 28 days at the surgery.

Medication reviews are essential in ensuring that the medication you are taking is being effective and is necessary. If your medication is on a repeat prescription, medication reviews give you the chance to inform the doctor of any changes to your symptoms, and allows the doctor to make any necessary changes to manage your health appropriately.
You will notice that your repeat prescription slip has a comment next to each medication. Sometimes it will say something like 'Last ordered on ... ... You may order ... more items'. This tells you when the item was last ordered by you, and how many more times you can order it before your next medication review.
At other times an item will have a comment like this: 'A medication review is needed before this item is next issued'. This is your prompt to arrange a consultation with your GP or practice pharmacist. This is really important! We will not issue the medication unless you have this review.
